The day before the wedding
The bride prepares her trousseau and dresses up. She visits a beauty salon to get a massage, a manicure, a facial treatment…
The groom has his stag night with his friends.
The Big Day!
After the excitement of the engagement and planning comes your wedding day.
Your wedding day is one of the most special days you’ll ever experience. It’s the day you finally tie-the-knot with your soul mate and become husband and wife. You’ll never forget this day for as long as you live, so make it extra special by taking some time to consider all the details to ensure it goes as smoothly as possible.
A wedding is a big event that requires careful planning – there are hundreds of little details which need attention. So while you’re busy choosing dresses, picking flowers and finding the ideal venue, don’t forget to plan your wedding transport too. This is one area of your wedding planning that can be easily overlooked.
Don’t leave your wedding transport until the last minute! You need to book well in advance to ensure you get your preferred vehicle on your chosen day. Booking early also gives you time to compare prices, check the vehicle is available for hire on the date of your wedding and ask any questions relating to its use.
The progress of the day
The preparation of the bride should start early in the morning with hairstyling and makeup artist, who will be followed by a florist delivering her bouquet. In general, every 10 minutes of preparation must be taken into account for each service: hairdresser / makeup artist, manicurist, seamstress, etc.
This is an important point because it is necessary to plan ahead of time: schedule the appointments of each service provider in order to allow enough time for everyone to finish their work before leaving for the ceremony venue.
It is also advisable to schedule a photo session with your photographer before the arrival at the ceremony venue. This will allow you to take romantic pictures on site or around your house or hotel room before changing your outfit (if you are wearing a short dress).
All this must be scheduled in order to allow enough time for you to arrive at least 30
The bride and groom are getting ready in their respective homes with their families. The bride’s father is waiting for her on the porch of the ceremony place to give her away. The groom waits for her at the altar.
According to tradition, the bride must not see her future husband before the ceremony. If you do not want to respect this tradition, you can change it! It will be a unique and memorable moment for you. But if you want to keep this tradition, nothing prevents you from exchanging a few words by phone or via social networks.
11:00am
Arrive of the bride and guests at the ceremony
12:00pm
The ceremony takes place in a church or town hall. The witnesses are close friends of both families. They sign the marriage certificate called “livret de famille”, which is legally valid. If you want to have an official marriage, you need to get married at the town hall. If you want to have a religious ceremony, it does not replace the official wedding and will be considered only as a symbol of your union. During the ceremony, we can hear traditional songs like “Ave Maria” by Schubert, “Nessun Dorma” by Puccini, “Air” by Bach or Mendelssohn’s march. After signing the livret de famille, rings are exchanged. The groom puts his ring on his wife
It will last approximately 1 hour.
Following the ceremony, we will have a cocktail with champagne and finger food (smoked salmon, foie gras, cheese puffs, etc.) for about an hour (2 to 3 glasses per person). We will also have our first dance.
We will end up with a group shot outside before everyone leaves to go to lunch.
